Day Four: Miyagi Have Hope for You

Me: Well, it happened. I've got absolutely nothing to say for Fluid Pudding today.

Jeff: You went to Moe's and a yarn store today, could you talk about that?

Me: Do YOU want to read about that?

Jeff: Nope.

Me: I could talk about that time when I took a standardized test for someone and they ended up getting kicked out of the university.

Jeff: It's a good story.

Me: Yeah, but I really don't feel like getting my degree revoked if the university decides to go all ex post facto on me. But then again, my annual income for 2006 was less than five bucks, so it's not like that degree is really getting me anywhere. I could talk about how I'm losing my marketability with every passing year and how difficult it's going to be for me to start working again. I could talk about how that really scares me sometimes because I thought I was going to be a bigshot someday, and now my goals have really turned around and I don't know what I want to do anymore. Yeah. I could talk about how I've been sleeping with a cold headband tied around my head and how I look like a really dilapidated version of Daniel Larusso.

Jeff: You went to Moe's and a yarn store today, could you talk about that?

You're a bigshot to me, babe.

What did you want to do when you knew what you wanted to do??

I want to hear about the yarn store!

    Suebob--Thanks, man!

jd--I wanted to be a publishing hotshot. However, it's been six years since I've worked in an office, and over two years since I've done any freelance work.

Aileen--It was lovely. The things that stood out to me were the sock yarns and the Dream in Color and Fleece Artist selections. (I purchased a skein of pale green Highlander by Alpaca with a Twist.)

This may sound silly, but a Sephora just opened in my town and I have NO IDEA what to look at when I go in there. You've talked about Sephora before - do you still go there? What are your favorite things? And can you play that song on the French Horn? It'll earn you extra credit!

I'm at four-and-a-half years of homebound, child-centered "work". I've just started dusting off the old design skills again. But, yes, I'm a little frightened too.

I went to that yarn store yesterday, too! And also picked up a skein of the Highlander, but in pink.

I loved her selection of Lorna's Laces sock yarn - it was great to see someplace local carrying the solids/semi-solids.

Well, I'm assuming you at least got your Art Vandalay (and YARN!), which makes me feel less guilty about the mac and cheese road trip.

Haus--I get lost in Sephora. I tend to head straight for the Philosophy skin care stuff and the Stila makeup. But I really have no idea. Let me know what you find!

All Adither--I know. I really don't regret the homebound years, but I *do* feel a bit of anxiety when I think ahead.

Kara--I held the pink! (I think we got there sometime around two.) I also fondled several skeins of Interlacements and Cherry Tree Hill.

Tortoiseshelly--You are officially off the hook. (You're right. I had my Vandalay and I ate it, too!)

I also wonder if I am losing my marketability and will be that woman when I do find a job.

Also, I am now interested in Moe's- there is one right by my parents' house and now I'll have to try it. You are their unofficial spokesperson.
