Children throwing snowballs instead of throwing heads.

As you may (or may not) know, my brother-in-law underwent surgery ten years ago for the removal of a cancerous brain tumor.

After several months of chemotherapy and radiation, he was finally declared Cancer Free.

My family is having a party for him tomorrow afternoon to celebrate his ten year Cancer Free Anniversary.

And because his head is colder than a well digger's butt (my grandma's words, not mine), I knitted
up the Jackyll and Hide (their spelling, not mine) hat from Knitty.com to celebrate his decade of being on this side of the cancer fence.

And now I want to keep it for myself.

Because how could my neighbors turn me down when I ask them to help me shovel snow while wearing this?

That is a great reason for a party! I bet he'll love your thoughtful gift.

Congrats to the bro-in-law on being cancer-free for ten years.

That hat is too cool for words.

That hat would scare cancer away all by itself. The anniversary party is such a wonderful idea.

That hat rocks as does being cancer-free. Congrats to your BIL.

Oh, and you should totally knit hats for the entire family. Really add some spice to the neighborhood.

I did not know that! My sister had a cancerous brain tumor 7 years ago, when she was a first year PT student. (Now she's 30 and married with a one-year-old. She skipped the chemo in hopes of future children, and the gamble paid off.)

Really nice hat. We're not knitters, but my sister does occasionally put on her radiation mask just to freak us all out. That thing is scary looking.

That's so cool but it would be even more awesome if you knit one out of glow-in-the-dark yarn.
