Well, friends, you’ve reached the final post of the Fluid Pudding Tropicana Juicy Reward Adventure! (Foreshadowing: Time keeps on slipping into the future, no?)
For our “final” adventure (I’m using the term Final very loosely. We’re sort of hooked on the Juicy Reward program!), we decided to purchase something big to shake up our summer. That’s right! We are now the proud owners of camping gear! By cashing in 9 points (that’s less than two cartons of Trop50), we were able to go to Coleman.com and save 30% off the purchase of $60 or more. We purchased a tent, a sleeping bag (why was I the only person in the family without a sleeping bag?!), a tent light, and an LED lantern. AND, because we drank two cartons of Trop50 and logged in the code, we were able to save over $70. (By the way, it feels really good to see your total go from $235 to $164 all because you drank some juice.)
When the tent arrived, the girls immediately started making plans to camp in the back yard.
(Jeff set the tent up shortly after lunch, and the girls played in it for the rest of the day.)
Seriously. Jeff and I could have bailed for dinner and a movie, and the girls would have never known. (Just in case you’re wondering: We quickly recognized how irresponsible such a move would have been.)
When it started getting dark, Jeff and I tossed around the idea of building a bonfire for s’mores. Because it was so stinking hot outside and the bugs were going crazy, we opted for microwave s’mores instead. (Camping in your own back yard is a beautiful thing—especially if the biker bar down the street is holding an outdoor concert featuring a Steve Miller cover band. I’m a picker! I’m a grinner! I’m a lover! I’m a sinner! Et cetera into the night!)
By 9:00, all lights were out, and the girls proved themselves to be Expert Campers. AND, as I type this post, I’m pleased to say that we’ve now camped out three times in the back yard and are currently looking into opportunities to camp beyond our subdivision! (Tiny steps, people.)
