Fluid Pudding header image 3

Sometimes the sun shines on us.

A few weeks back, I was contacted by the fine folks at BlogHer. They told me that JCPenney wanted to give me a $500 gift card to spend on Linden Street merchandise. The only kicker? A video would have to be made to document the Before, the During, and the After.

Okay. First off? I never mind carrying a video camera around, Pamela Anderson. Secondly? When that e-mail came in, I was spending roughly 15.72% of my time complaining about The State of the Pudding House. Yep. It didn’t take long for me to accept their offer.

As I sat at the computer and browsed through the Linden Street possibilities, a gentle voice from above said, “The Bedroom. You should beautify the bedroom.” (That voice was Jeff, by the way. At six foot three, his voice always comes from above.)

To shorten a potentially long story: I grabbed the camera and took a look around the bedroom. And that’s where the video begins. (Go grab some popcorn. Your life is about to be changed in a very decorative way.)

So, hooray! WHO is no longer embarrassed about her bedroom? ME! WHO just might decide that the bedroom looks like a prime spot to make some more babies? Um, yeah. No. BUT, the bedroom looks really great. REALLY great! And the lamps? They’ve changed my life.

(Side story on how the lamps have changed my life: I have an irrational fear that darkness-loving rabid squirrels are living under our bed. Until I bought the new bedside lamps, I would flip the light off at the switch by the door and then leap gazelle-like onto the bed. Now? I just roll over and turn off the lamp. Simple. No squirrels ready to attack my ankles! Good night!)

Anyway, a big thank you (once again) to BlogHer and JCPenney. My bedroom now looks like something from The Catalog of Coolness.

And the elephant vaporizer? The bedside lamp makes her look quite classy, don’t you think?

Bonus: Because of this experience, I learned that I’m partial to rod-pocket panels! Who would have thought?!

Extra Bonus: BlogHer is giving away five $100 gift cards to JCPenney each week. You can check out the sweepstakes right here!

Also: My bedroom is hinting that it needs a set of these, and my yarn is begging for this guy. The fun never ends!

Congrats on the fancy new bedroom digs! Looks lovely.

Cute how you sound surprised to see your wedding photo there on the dresser. Like caffeinated blue birds planted it there for you. Livin’ the Cinderella life, yep. :-)

Yes, yes, but is waking up a little brighter and the outlook always sunny now?

What is the delightful song in your video?
    Great job, yes indeed.

Oooh! Very nice! Is the wire female form from JCP, too?

Hey there! Looks great. If you decide you want a fresh coat of paint to go with the new fabrics, might I suggest “Oregon Coast” from Lowe’s brand? (Not that I’m hinting anything here, I swear, and no, I don’t work for Lowe’s.) It’s a lovely tan. I’d describe it more, but chances are what you see in your head when I say “sandy” are different than what I see in my head when I say “sandy.” In any case, it would look great with your new textiles. Have a good day!

I have that elephant thing. Whatever it’s called.

Honestly, the new lamps are nice but the one with the elephant in front of it looks way better. You should buy another elephant and make them into lamp bases and sell them. Vaporizor lamps elephants. Who doesn’t want one of those?

I bought that very comforter set a few weeks ago! I loved it so much I bought it even though I only have a full size bed, so the “skirt” is too big. But I just tuck it under the mattress. Maybe someday I’ll be able to get a queen size bed to fit my comforter set. By the way, it’s really warm!

Your room looks great, but I really just liked hearing your voice!

Oh, that elephant is mighty fine indeed. I might have to get one when we move into a place that is less mold-prone. Currently hubby and I just shoot salt water up our noses daily for the moisture. It’s so cool! You should try it! I’m not talking about wussy spray. This is water that comes out the other side! I used to have sinus headaches at least 3 times a week before I started The Snorting.

We too have a lamp that is displayed but unplugged. We should start a club. Except maybe you couldn’t be in my club anymore! Ours is on the back of the toilet. It is one of those Christmas Story leg lamps. This is Man Decorating.

We have matching lamps now! We’re twins!

WE WERE MEANT TO CUDDLE TOGETHER.

It’s not coincidental. That right there is the gods at work.

The only possible way my Linden Street experience could’ve been better is if we’d been able to video together.

Plus I want that elephant lamp.

Very classy looking. I like the lamps. I like your headboard, too – the new comforter goes with it so nicely.

And Alex in OC, are you talking about that teapot thing with the salt water? I did that once after a pharmacist recommended it for a headache. Worked great!

Um, kind of? Not an old school neti pot, but a NeilMed plastic bottle that looks easier to use. It’s amazing.

Woo — very nice makeover, FP :-)
