So, you’ve signed on to help a bunch of little kids get crafty for the holidays, and you’re out of ideas.
You’ve come to the right place, Shirley!
Take a tube sock and fill it halfway with rice. Now fold the top down and roll it a bit to make the snowman hat. With yarn, tie off the top so your rice doesn’t spill. With more yarn, tie a few bows around the neck. With fabric paint, apply eyes, nose, mouth, and buttons, and you’re set. Done. ‘ ‘ ‘text/javascript’>
Then the children can use it as weapons to hit each other in the head.
ha! kidding! probably!
This is sooo cute! And simple! Thanks for sharing!!
Yep… I can totally see my three year old turning this into a sap… a *cute* sap, though! Heh.
So sweet! These look great!
AND thank you for the sock! I love it!
What if you’re 30 and bored? Would this be an appropriate craft?
Hm…I think the mouse in our basement would REALLY like one of these. Because he’s probably hungry, having made a REALLY warm nest in my yarn stash. (I’m trying not to think about it.)
Great way to lure me into a post about a snow sock.
I am not lying when I say I just asked for easy holiday craft ideas. I’m doing this this weekend. Although, my kids are freakishly obsessed with eating rice at every meal and may object to wasting heaven’s meal.
This almost makes me wish my kids were little again. Almost.
Not gonna lie. I probably could not manage this. What with the hooves where my fingers should be.
We used to make piggy banks out of socks when i was little. Although, now I am said that we didn’t make snowpeople!
It didn’t click at first, but re-reading ten minutes later solved the ‘Why am I singing the Beastie Boys?’ mystery…
See! Told you I’d do it! I delivered these guys yesterday.

I made one of these yesterday for a friend to take home with her and she’s having her class make these on Friday at their school Christmas party. All the kids loved here. ;o) Thanks for the idea!
Super cute!
Clever!!!
P.S. Merry Christmas!
I had no idea the post would be about a snowman (adorable…and great idea) but you had me giggling at the title. Awesome.
cute! you could also fill it with those beans that heat up in the microwave, if the idea of a hot snowman isn’t too ker-azy…
