450 seventh grade girls gathered before the sun came up to attend a statewide middle school conference because science, technology, engineering, and math should not be considered “non-traditional” career choices for women.
50 of those girls are from St. Louis.
Meredith is one of them. ‘ ‘ ‘text/javascript’>
Go Meredith! As someone with a STEM degree from the old days-it warms my heart to hear these things.
Awesome!!!! Be proud mama!!!
That’s awesome!! I work in IT and mentor high school girls who want to go into the field. Way to represent, Meredith!
Way to go, Meredith! My oldest started college as a Chemical Engineering major. Of course, she did switch to graphic design, but that is neither here nor there.
Out-freaking-standing!!!
AHHHH!!! First of all? Meredith is the most awesome. Secondly? I had no idea that a job I love doing, playing on microscopes with planaria and drosophila, was considered “non-traditional”. WTF is traditional?!?!
I was at that conference with our river model. It was so cool seeing girls that actually were interested in STEM stuff instead of standing around bored.
